Flames Summon Drew Shore From Stockton

The emergency recall has become a rite of passage for the Calgary Flames’ prospects this season. With the injury to Lance Bouma on Tuesday night, add another to the growing list of players brought up on an emergency basis. The club announced this morning they have recalled forward Drew Shore from the American Hockey League’s Stockton Heat.
Shore is the 12th member of the Heat to get a taste of the NHL this season with the Flames. A product of Littleton, Colorado, Shore joined the Flames last season via a trade with the Florida Panthers in exchange for Corban Knight.
He’s 25. He’s a right-shooting center that can also play the wing. He’s been good but not great for the Heat this season but he’s getting a shot because he might be a fit as an inexpensive bottom-six winger next season. Shore’s a pending restricted free agent following this season, and he’s likely running out of runway to establish himself as an NHL player.
