Flames Take Sam Bennett at 4th Overall

The Calgary Flames finally have their Sam.
In a move telegraphed when the previous three teams made the picks that everyone – more or less – had predicted they would, the Calgary Flames selected Kingston Frontenacs forward Sam Bennett at 4th overall.
Bennett was the last of the vaunted “big four” in this year’s draft. He’s earned comparisons to former Flame Doug Gilmour in terms of playing style. Considering the Flames haven’t been a physically tough team to play against in recent years, Bennett’s combination of size, speed and tenacity will fill a lot of holes in the Flames organization.
And he can do pull ups now, so what’s not to love?
