We have a trade to announce!
The Calgary Flames have traded their 19th overall selection to the New York Rangers in exchange for the 22nd overall pick and the 72nd overall pick.
Update: And they’ve traded down again, moving 22nd overall to Washington in exchange for 24th overall and 80th overall.
The trades down allows the Flames to effectively replace the third round pick they owe Chicago via the Erik Gustafsson trade deadline swap, and gain another third rounder, to boot.
The Flames will now select as follows:
- 1st round, 22nd overall (from NY Rangers)
- 2nd round, 50th overall
- 3rd round, 72nd overall (from NY Rangers)
- 3rd round, 80th overall (from Washington)
- 4th round, 96th overall (from San Jose, via Montreal and Buffalo)
- 5th round, 143rd overall
- 6th round, 174th overall
- 7th round, 205th overall
