Flames will wear retro home jerseys in the playoffs

The rumour is true. The Calgary Flames announced via a video on social media on Friday morning that they’ll be wearing their retro jerseys at home during the 2019 Stanley Cup playoffs.
Upon their arrival in Calgary in 1980, the Flames basically re-crested their snazzy red sweaters with white logos that they wore in Atlanta. They maintained this look until 1994, when they got all fancy and introduced the pedestal jerseys. The retros returned intermittently in recent years, being used as the third jerseys from 2009-13 and again in 2016-17. They returned as the full-time third jerseys this season and, surprise, everyone still loves them.
The Flames have a winning record in their retro jerseys this season and won a Stanley Cup 30 years ago in the same classic look. Opting for the retro jerseys at home is a very smart decision for everyone involved.
The Stanley Cup Playoffs begin Wednesday, April 10.
