If you want something to root for in regards to the Calgary Flames, it might be Dustin Wolf. The precotious puck-stopper registered his 24th career WHL shutout this past week. The all-time record is 26. He’s got a realistic shot at the record, but the clock is ticking.
It’s time for our weekly check-in on the non-NHL kids.

In case you missed it:

  • Last week’s update
  • Done for the season are Jake Boltmann (NCAA), Daniil Chechelev (MHL), Lucas Feuk (HockeyEttan), Demetrios Koumontzis (NCAA), Mitchell Mattson (NCAA), Josh Nodler (NCAA), Filip Sveningsson (HockeyAllsvenskan), Johannes Kinnvall (SHL), Emil Heineman (SHL) and Ilya Nikolayev (MHL)
  • Glenn Gawdin and Connor Mackey were called up to Calgary’s taxi squad.

Saint John is in the midst of their round robin, New Brunswick-only, playoff round. Saint John is 2-2, basically in the middle of the pack: Moncton is 1-2 and Acadie-Bathurst is 2-1. Saint John plays each team once more.
Francis has five points in four games thus far.

Wolf played three times. He registered three wins and allowed zero, one and two goals against in the three games. His shutout was his fourth of the season and 24th of his career, putting him just two shutouts shy of the all-time WHL record. He remains among the league leaders in everything goaltending. Everett has seven games left on their schedule.
