FlamesNation welcomes Jeff Marek to The Nation Network

It’s a big day at The Nation Network.
As you may be aware, FlamesNation is part of a family of hockey websites ran by some of the most passionate and knowledgeable people in the field, who run sites such as this one, Canucks Army, OilersNation, The Leafs Nation and Daily Faceoff, and produce shows like Barn Burner, Leafs Morning Take and Morning Cuppa Hockey, among others.
On Thursday, our network announced the addition of hockey media superstar Jeff Marek to the team. We’re extremely excited about it.
Starting next month, Marek will be hosting a show called The Sheet for Daily Faceoff five days a week (at 3 p.m. ET daily, 1 p.m. in Calgary), where he’ll be touching on all the biggest and most interesting stories in the hockey world in his unique style. He’ll also be writing for Daily Faceoff, and he’ll be appearing on shows throughout the network from time to time – so yeah, prepare for Marek to pop onto Barn Burner on occasion.
Marek chatted with the crew at Leafs Morning Take on Thursday after the big announcement and discussed his latest career move with Nick Alberga and Jay Rosehill:
We all have these wish lists of things we want to do in our career. So I just kind of shot the works: I want to do this, I want to do this… This is like a dream job profile for me. And they said ‘okay.’ It was one of the easiest negotiations that I’ve ever had. That’s one of the reasons why The Nation Network was so attractive to me. I get to work with now, you look at the colleagues that I’m going to share: there’s established veteran broadcast voices and there’s future superstars and there’s ex-players that are becoming star broadcasters, see: Rosehill, comma, Jay. It is a pretty attractive place to be. It’s a really healthy mix of people.
Marek joins a roster of writers, broadcasters and generally hockey-obsessed people across The Nation Network’s sites and shows. Marek’s addition to Daily Faceoff and The Nation Network is a significant move that aligns with our ongoing commitment to expanding our content offerings for hockey fans. With his deep background in sports media, Marek will play an integral role in shaping how the network informs and engages its audiences. His presence across our web and show platforms ensures that fans can look forward to in-depth commentary and well-rounded coverage from one of the most well-known voices in hockey.
“I’ve just been obsessed and consumed with this game,” said Marek. “And it seems like this is, and always has been, a really great landing spot for someone like me because there’s so many other people that are like this at The Nation Network. It’s really impressive.”
