It’ll be Lindholm’s third trip to the Worlds to represent Sweden. For the American trio, Gaudreau will be playing in his fourth Worlds, Ryan his second and Hanifin his third. Forward Michael Frolik will also be representing the Czech Republic at the Worlds.
The World Hockey Championship is slated to run May 10-26 in Bratislava and Kosice, Slovakia and typically features the best players from teams that missed the Stanley Cup playoffs or were knocked out in the opening round. Led by their captain at the time Mikael Backlund, Sweden won the event last year.
