On Wednesday, the Calgary Flames placed forward Glenn Gawdin on waivers. On Thursday, reports from the usual crew of hockey insiders are that Gawdin has cleared waivers.
Now that he’s cleared waivers, Gawdin can be ferried to and from the AHL’s Stockton Heat freely until he has (a) played in 10 NHL games or (b) been on the NHL roster for 30 days, both being cumulative figures.
The Flames now have a bit of roster flexibility, which they will likely use to activate Brad Richardson from the injury reserve in the very near future.
