Hudler Named NHL’s Second Star For March

A second Calgary Flames player has been honoured for his performance in the month of March. By no coincidence, it’s a player on the same line as the other one.
Jiri Hudler was announced by the league as the NHL’s Second Star for the month of March and the only skated among the three stars – Ottawa’s Andrew Hammond was first star and Minnesota’s Devan Dubnyk was third star.
Hudler led all skaters in the NHL in March with 23 points over 15 games, really stepping up in the absence of Flames captain Mark Giordano. Hudler has acted as the catalyst and mentor to linemates Sean Monahan and Johnny Gaudreau this season, and he was exceptional over the past month. He’s presently top 10 in the league in points, with 71 points in 74 games.
