Jiri Hudler Named Finalist For Lady Byng

A bit of pre-game news for you, and it’s good news.
Calgary Flames winger Jiri Hudler has been named one of the three finalists for the Lady Byng Trophy. The news was announced on Sportsnet (and NBCSN’s) pre-game coverage, and related by our pal Pat Steinberg on Twitter.
Hudler had just seven minor penalties in 78 games on the Flames’ top line, which along with his points explosion this season put him in rarefied company. Young linemates Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan each also had 6 minors on the year, but Hudler was the straw that stirred the drink for that trio, and really did a great job mentoring the kids on and off the ice all season long.
Congratulations to Hudler and the Flames on his nomination.
