Another game, another milestone for Calgary Flames star forward Johnny Gaudreau. In the first period of the Flames’ game with Chicago on Monday night, Gaudreau scored one heck of a goal. The goal represented his 106th point of his season and the 600th point of his career.
On the goal, Gaudreau received a pass from Matthew Tkachuk in the corner of Chicago’s zone to the left of goaltender Kevin Lankinen. He skated around the net, circumnavigated the offensive zone, then beat Lankinen with a shot that eluded him blocker-side to register the goal.
Gaudreau’s 600th point comes in his 596th career NHL game, all of which have been played with the Flames. Of his first 600 points, 207 were goals and 393 were assists. 428 of his points were at even strength.
600 points for Johnny Gaudreau! Johnny’s first period goal has him join Jarome Iginla, Theoren Fleury, Al MacInnis, and Joe Nieuwendyk as the only players to record 600 points with Calgary. It’s also a new career high for goals with 37. #Flames
Midway through the first period of Monday’s game, the Flames lead Chicago by a 2-1 score.
