No goaltending decision for tomorrow. Valimaki now week-to-week with a lower body injury. Frolik close to returning. Skated today, still day-to-day with a lower body injury. No update on Michael Stone’s timeline. #Flames

Jusso Valimaki out week-to-week with lower body inury

The Calgary Flames returned to the practice ice on Tuesday morning following their two-game road trip. Arguably the biggest news from the skate involved a player that wasn’t skating: rookie defender Juuso Valimaki.
With Valimaki out, expect Oliver Kylington to play for the next little while.
With Valimaki and Stone out, it’s probably safe to expect the Flames to place Valimaki on the injured reserve list and call up a defenseman as a precaution for Wednesday night’s game against the Dallas Stars. For what it’s worth, the Stockton Heat played an afternoon game on Tuesday and no regular defensemen were scratched.
