Just 48 seconds after Johnny Gaudreau hit a big milestone against the Boston Bruins, another Calgary Flames player hit one. Rookie defender Juuso Valimaki potted his first career NHL goal.
The Flames’ first round selection at the 2017 NHL Draft, Valimaki made the Flames out of camp this season. His first goal came in his sixth career NHL game, and just 11 days after his 20th birthday.
His goal was set up by 2012 first round pick Mark Jankowski, with 2014 first round pick Sam Bennett crashing the net.
