In 2017, the Calgary Flames selected Juuso Valimaki in the first round of the 2017 NHL Draft. This past October, he was placed on waivers for the purposes of sending him to the minors, and he was instead claimed by the Arizona Coyotes.
Valimaki returned to Calgary for the first time as a member of the Coyotes on Monday night and received a “Welcome Back” graphic on the Flames Energy Board. Unfortunately, there was a typo…
(His first name is “Juuso” with two Us rather than “Jusso” with two Ss.)
The 24-year-old Valimaki has registered a goal and six points in 18 games with the Coyotes so far this season.
After one period of play, the Flames led Valimaki and the Coyotes by a 2-0 score.
