Calgary Flames captain Mark Giordano has had a remarkable career, particularly when you consider that he was not drafted into either junior or the National Hockey League. He hit a pretty significant milestone during Monday night’s game in Chicago, earning his 300th career NHL assist.
The assist came on a breakaway goal by Johnny Gaudreau in the third period, created off a very smart bank pass off the center boards by Giordano. The goal gave the Flames a 3-2 lead.
Giordano’s 300th assist was his 418th career point and came in his 797th career game. The 35-year-old has been captain of the Flames since the 2013-14 season.
