Markus Granlund Goes Back To Stockton

Some minor roster news in advance of tonight’s game with Washington!
The Flames announced via press release that Markus Granlund has been returned to the Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League.
Granlund was likely going to be a healthy scratch tonight with the return of Joe Colborne from the injured reserve, so most likely this is a move to get him to Texas in time for Stockton’s game tomorrow in Cedar Park against the Texas Stars. With the move (and presuming Colborne is activated tonight), the Flames will remain at 22 active players: 3 goalies, 6 defensemen and 13 forwards.
Granlund played one game with Stockton and had three points and played one game with the Flames and was held pointless, but played a bottom-six role. For what it’s worth, the Heat handily lost the single game they played without Granlund – their top center – so it’ll be useful for both Granlund and the farm team for him to get back into game action as soon as possible.
