Michael Frolik out day-to-day with lower-body injury

A Calgary Flames regular was absent from pre-game warmup prior to their game against the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday night. The club announced prior to the game that Michael Frolik is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.
Frolik, 30, has played in 20 of the Flames’ 21 games prior to the injury. He has seven goals and zero assists this season, along with a plus-three rating. Austin Czarnik dressed in his place for Wednesday’s game against the Winnipeg Jets.
One of the most reliable two-way bodies on their third and fourth lines, Frolik is a big loss in the middle of a stretch of games against key conference opponents.
With Frolik out temporarily, the Flames have no remaining healthy extra forwards. With Dalton Prout in Stockton on a conditioning stint, Michael Stone is their lone healthy extra skater.
