Milan Lucic to have Player Safety hearing Sunday

The Calgary Flames are en route to Washington, D.C. for a meeting with the Washington Capitals, but one of their own will have a meeting with the NHL’s Department of Player Safety. Milan Lucic will have a hearing on Sunday.
While it’s not specified whether it’s a phone or in-person hearing, typically the Player Safety announcements differentiate in-person hearings so we’ll assume this will be via phone.
Lucic received a double minor penalty for roughing Kole Sherwood after Sherwood poked the padding of goaltender David Rittich looking for a rebound. Lucic punched Sherwood right in the face, dropping him and leading to a bit of a bru-ha-ha on the ice. Sherwood briefly left the game for concussion evaluation, but he later returned and finished the game.
While Lucic hasn’t been suspended in awhile, he was fined last season for a similar incident with Tampa Bay’s Mathieu Joseph. (Fines aren’t part of the “repeat offender” calculations, by the way.)
The Flames finish off their road trip tomorrow in Washington.
