NHL and NHLPA formally announce $82.5 million cap ceiling for 2022-23

Throughout the past several months, many prominent hockey insiders have reported it. National Hockey League officials have suggested it would be the case. And on Thursday, the NHL and its players’ association made it official following ratification by the board of governors.
The salary cap ceiling will be $82.5 million for the league’s 32 teams for the 2022-23 season.
The cap floor will be $61 million.
The Flames currently have 14 players on one-way contracts with a cap commitment of $56.49 million for the upcoming season. (Goaltenders Jacob Markstrom and Dan Vladar; defencemen Noah Hanifin, Rasmus Andersson, Chris Tanev, Juuso Valimaki and Connor Mackey; forwards Sean Monahan, Mikael Backlund, Milan Lucic, Blake Coleman, Elias Lindholm, Tyler Toffoli and Dillon Dube.)
