The NHL is continuing to examine options when it comes to playing some of the 2019-20 season.
An NHL board of governors meeting was held Monday afternoon that included an infectious disease expert who was there to answer questions, TSN’s Pierre LeBrun said.
The league also talked about the positive COVID-19 tests of two Ottawa Senators players, and a league business update.
In reality, the league is still examining their options and today’s meeting doesn’t get us any closer to actual hockey. LeBrun reported these options are being examined, but the uncertainty of the coronavirus leaves many unknowns.
Last week, NHL front offices backed a potential 24-team playoff format while players presented a proposition for playoffs in the middle of summer.
At the end of the day, we’re still no closer to getting any kind of hockey back.
