It was on this day back in 2000, that former @Calgary Flames goaltender, Fred Brathwaite, tied a franchise record with his fifth shutout of the season, which came in a 3-0 victory over the @San Jose Sharks.

On April 1st, 2000, Fred Brathwaite made 29 saves in a 3-0 victory over the San Jose Sharks to give himself five shutouts on the season, tying the franchise record set by Dan Bouchard in 1974. In 61 games played, Braithwaite finished the 1999-00 campaign with a record of 25-25-7, 1506 saves, and a .905 save%. Braithwaite would tie the shutout record the very next season as he, once again, put five bagels up on the board, this time in only 49 appearances.

Brathwaite sat tied atop of the Flames leaderboard with this record until Mikka Kiprusoff smashed it during the 2005-06 season when he dropped an incredible 10 shutout campaign. As of this writing, Kiprusoff currently holds the top three spots for single-season shutouts in Calgary Flames history with 10 (2005-06), seven (2006-07), and six (2010-11) respectively.
