On Tuesday morning, Montréal Canadiens forward Emil Heineman was struck by a car as a pedestrian.
The accident happened in Salt Lake City, Utah, and it’s been announced that the Swedish forward will be out for 3-4 weeks. Moreover, Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli reported that it’s believed to be a wrist injury.

Heineman, selected 43rd overall in the 2020 draft, became a regular National Hockey League player this season, where he’s scored 10 goals and 17 points in 41 games for the resurgent Canadiens. He’s the left wing on a dominant bottom six line featuring Jake Evans and Joel Armia.
Heineman’s rights once belonged to the Calgary Flames, as they acquired him in the Sam Bennett trade in 2021, before he was moved to the Canadiens in 2022 in the Tyler Toffoli trade.
Connor Bedard scored his 100th career point
In Monday’s game against the Calgary Flames, Connor Bedard of the Chicago Blackhawks notched his 100th point in the league on their second goal.

Bedard is widely believed to be the next generational talent and for good reason. In his final season of junior hockey, the 19-year-old scored 71 goals and 143 points in 57 games, along with 10 goals and 20 points in seven postseason games.
It was never in doubt who’d go first overall in the 2023 draft, with the Blackhawks being the fortunate team that selected him. In Bedard’s rookie season, he scored 22 goals and 61 points in 68 games, missing time with a broken jaw but still winning the Calder Memorial Trophy. That’s not the only hardware Bedard has picked up in his career, winning back-to-back Gold Medals at the 2022 and 2023 World Junior Championships.
So far this season, Bedard has 12 goals and 39 points in 44 games as the Blackhawks have a 14-28-2 record with 30 points, the fewest in the league. It’s one of many milestones the right-shot centre will achieve in his career.
Adrian Kempe fined $5,000 for slew-footing Connor McDavid
Going from one generational talent to another, Edmonton Oilers centre Connor McDavid was slew-footed by Los Angeles Kings forward Adrian Kempe in the Kings’ 1-0 defeat on Monday. Due to the incident, Kempe was fined the league maximum $5,000.

Kempe leads the King in scoring with 20 goals, while he’s second in team scoring with 39 points. On the other hand, McDavid has 17 goals and 59 points, second in both categories for the Oilers.
The two teams have matched up in the first round of the last three postseasons, with the Oilers taking all three series in a descending order of games. It looks as if the matchup may happen again, as the Oilers are second in the Pacific Division with a 27-13-3 record and 57 points, while the Kings have a 24-12-5 record with 53 points and two fewer games played.
