On Tuesday morning, the Calgary Flames officially announced a long-term contract extension for their most important player.
In the aftermath of the unveiling of Dustin Wolf’s seven year, $7.5 million average annual value extension, which begins in 2026-27, FlamesNation managing editor Ryan Pike did the media rounds to discuss the big signing and what it all means.
The Jason Gregor Show
First up, Pike caught up with OilersNation’s Jason Gregor on the eponymous Jason Gregor Show to discuss everything. They also chatted about the other moves the Flames may be pondering, including the seemingly-inevitable Rasmus Andersson departure, and how things are progressing with the construction of Scotia Place.
Canucks Conversation
A little later, Pike joined Canucks Army’s David Quadrelli on Canucks Conversation. And despite the title of the show, they did not discuss the Canucks, but rather pondered the implications of the Wolf extension. In this chat, Pike compared the factors behind the long-term Matt Coronato deal to how Wolf’s lengthy pact unfolded.
