<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The Calgary Wranglers and Abbotsford Canucks continued their midweek series into Wednesday night for a little earlier game than usual. It was a 6:00 start at the &#8216;Dome and the Wranglers were looking for their fifth win in a row. Dustin Wolf got the start again instead of going with Daniil Chechelev on a back-to-back series. Unfortunately, their winning streak would come to an end. The Canucks came out with some more emotion and jump in this game and beat the Wranglers by a final score of 4-2.</span></p>

<h2><b>Game at a glance </b></h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Through the first five minutes of the game, the shots were kept to a minimum. Just a pair a side. Then as the period carried on, the Canucks rattled off quite a bit of activity around the Wranglers’ net and ended up scoring first 11:48 into the first period off a juicy rebound.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The Wranglers were able to get one back 15:08 into the first when Cole Schwindt passed the puck up to Emilio Pettersen to slide it past Abbotsford netminder Spencer Martin. Connor Zary also picked up an assist. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The score wouldn’t stay deadlocked for long as the Canucks got another one on the board before the end of the period. A bad read defensively by the Wranglers sprung Tristen Nielsen of the Canucks on a breakaway and he sped into the zone and put the puck past Wolf. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The first period ended with the Canucks leading the Wranglers 2-1 and also leading 17-8 in shots. The second period was a much slower frame with no scoring action taking place and just a pair of penalties against the Wranglers. The score at the end of the second was the same as it was at the start. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The shot pace of the Canucks slowed down and after 40 minutes, they still held the edge 26-20. The majority of the third period carried on the same way. Only one power play for the Wranglers and the scoreless streak through a period and a half was snapped with just 6:50 to go in the third. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The Wranglers got a bit of momentum back by pulling Wolf, calling a timeout and scoring on the next shift. Emilio Pettersen buried another rebound to put the Wranglers within one with less than two minutes to go in regulation. </span></p>
