The Calgary Wranglers have signed left-handed forward Connor Mylymok to a one-year AHL contract for the 2024-25 season, Inside AHL Hockey writer Tony Androckitis reported Wednesday afternoon.
The son of former Saint John Flames forward Jeremy Mylymok, the younger Mylymok split the 2023-24 campaign between Niagara University in the NCAA and the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads, with whom his father played for six seasons.
Mylymok, 24, collected three goals and 36 penalty minutes in 11 games with the Steelheads during the 2023-24 regular season. The 6’1″, 205-pound left wing added one assist with Idaho in nine 2024 playoff contests.

Born in Jackson, Mississippi in 2000, Mylymok moved back to Canada in advance of his primary development years and started his junior career with the SJHL’s Notre Dame Hounds. He eventually became the captain of the NAHL’s Austin Bruins, collecting eight goals, 27 points, and 101 penalty minutes in 43 games while wearing the “C” in the 2020-21 season.
From there, Mylymok began attending the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and posted three goals, six points, and 32 penalty minutes as a freshman with the Nanooks in 2021-22. He managed one goal and eight points to go along with 101 penalty minutes as a sophomore before transferring to Niagara for his junior year.
Mylymok enjoyed his most productive collegiate season with the Purple Eagles in 2023-24, finishing 13th on the team in scoring with six goals and 11 points in 37 games. He also got the chance to play with his younger brother Luke, who also transferred to Niagara for the 2023-24 season after spending three years at the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
The Wranglers have effectively navigated reasonably choppy waters this offseason, with Justin Kirkland and Alex Gallant both re-entering the fold and Martin Frk and Trevor Janicke both joining the organization. The club still has to find a way to replace captain Brett Sutter, who retired earlier this month and joined Trent Cull’s coaching staff.
Androckitis also reported on Wednesday that the Wranglers have signed former OHL Owen Sound Attack forward Deni Goure to a one-year deal. The 21-year-old Goure finished sixth in OHL scoring during the 2023-24 season with 96 points in 68 games.
During the 2023-24 season, the Wranglers finished seventh in the AHL Pacific Division with a 35-28-9 record, just enough to capture the final playoff spot. Then, after surprising the favoured Tucson Roadrunners in the first round of the Calder Cup Playoffs, the Wranglers fell to the top-seeded Coachella Valley Firebirds in four games in the best-of-five Pacific Division semifinals.
