Roster News: Hudler Back Wednesday, Bouma Injured Again

After last night’s tough 5-4 loss to the San Jose Sharks the Calgary Flames had some different-looking lines at practice. Head coach Bob Hartley also disclosed some line-up news for tomorrow (which is WEDNESDAY, not Thursday, because Ryan doesn’t remember days of the week anymore.)
Karri Ramo, David Jones and Lance Bouma were absent from practice, with Ramo and Jones taking maintenance days and Bouma out (again) with a lower-body injury. Meanwhile, both Frolik and Hudler took full practice wearing regular (non-caution) jerseys.
Courtesy Derek Wills (and others), lines were thus:
Gaudreau – Monahan – Ferland
Bennett – Backlund – Hudler
Colborne – Granlund – Frolik (Jones)
Bollig – Stajan – Jooris
Bennett – Backlund – Hudler
Colborne – Granlund – Frolik (Jones)
Bollig – Stajan – Jooris
Since Frolik likely won’t play tomorrow, presumably he was a place-holder for Jones on the third line.
Hudler’s been out of action with a groin injury since leaving Calgary’s January 2 game against Colorado. Bouma previously missed 30 games with a broken leg suffered on October 13 against St. Louis when he awkwardly took a hit along the boards. With Bouma presumably headed straight to the injured reserve, once again the Flames can activate Hudler and/or Frolik without having to send a player to the American Hockey League’s Stockton Heat.
