A year ago, Calgary Flames assistant general manager Chris Snow was diagnosed with ALS and given a very short time to live. Thankfully, he was put in a trial for a new drug – one that’s worked very well thus far in halting the disease’s progression.
Due to his diagnosis and family history, Snow has become a prominent advocate for ALS research, as the treatment available to him just doesn’t exist yet for most ALS patients. The Calgary Flames Foundation has worked to amplify Snow’s message this month with the #TrickShot4Snowy campaign.

How it works

The campaign is pretty simple:
  • Film a video of you doing a trick shot of some kind. (Some videos have been very literal with their definition, as mine was.)
  • At the end of the video, challenge two (or more) people to do trick shots of their own.
  • After your video is posted, go to the Snowy Strong page and donate to ALS research.
As of this writing, the foundation’s fundraising efforts have raised over $166,000 towards ALS research.

Some highlights
