Tanguay to Calgary

Jul 1, 2010, 12:42 EDT

Is it the first shoe to drop? Or is it all we’ll see today? The Calgary Flames have signed free agent forward Alex Tanguay to what’s being reported as a one year contract worth $1.7 million.
It’ll be Tanguay’s second stint with the Flames, as he played two seasons post-lockout in Calgary. In 2006-07, Tanguay put up 81 points in 81 games, however dipped to 58 points in 78 games the following year. Following that season, Tanguay was traded to Montreal in a move that acquired Mike Cammalleri the other way.
It’s an affordable move for the Flames as Tanguay has struggled offensively since leaving Calgary…in 80 games, he put up 37 points last year.
Tanguay’s deal also involved a no movement clause.
