Friends, it’s now official: the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers will be taking part in the 2023 Heritage Classic. The Battle of Alberta match-up was officially announced by the league during the first intermission of Calgary’s game on Saturday night against Vancouver.
The game will take place at Edmonton’s Commonwealth Stadium on Oct. 29, the final Sunday in October.

It’ll be the third outdoor game for each franchise, with both the Flames and Oilers having played the Montreal Canadiens and Winnipeg Jets in previous editions of the Heritage Classic.
