The Blue Jays World Series run has some impacts on the Flames’ schedule

Gang, we don’t know if you’re away, but the Toronto Blue Jays have advanced to Major League Baseball’s World Series! They defeated the Seattle Mariners in the American League Championship Series on Monday and they’ll open the 2025 edition of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night.
The World Series run is such a big deal that it has some ripple effects on the schedule – both in terms of broadcast plans and game times themselves – for the Calgary Flames.
Game 1 of the World Series is on Friday night and will be carried on Sportsnet’s national feed on all of its various regional channels. That means that the Flames’ rematch against the Winnipeg Jets, a 6 p.m. MT start, will instead be carried on Sportsnet Flames. (Game 7 of the ALCS similarly bumped the first Flames/Jets clash on Monday night to Sportsnet Flames.)
Game 2 (on Saturday) and Game 3 (on Monday) won’t have any conflicts with the Flames.
However, Game 4 of the World Series is on Tuesday evening in Los Angeles while the Flames are visiting the Toronto Maple Leafs. That game had previously been moved from 4:30 p.m. MT to 4:15 p.m. MT to accommodate ESPN’s Frozen Frenzy, their annual TV event where every NHL game is staggered by 15 minutes and ESPN’s coverage can bounce between games all night. Now Flames/Maple Leafs has been further moved up to 4 p.m. MT and moved from Sportsnet West to Sportsnet Flames to accommodate Blue Jays coverage – and helpfully will give those of us who are covering the hockey game in Toronto a chance to find somewhere to watch the Jays game.
As always, we will have continuing coverage of the Flames’ 2025-26 season here at FlamesNation. If you find yourself drawn to the World Series over the next week or so, we’ll catch you up on what you missed from the local hockey team.
