The holiday break approaches for most Flames prospects

If you’re a fan of watching the up-and-comers within the Calgary Flames’ system play hockey, we’ve got some disappointing news for you: Santa is visiting soon.
It’s the holiday season, friends, and that means spending time with friends and family, sharing festive cheer, and most college and junior leagues having a bit of a breather when it comes to hockey games.
- The Western Hockey League is off between Dec. 19-26.
- The Ontario Hockey League is off between Dec. 21-27.
- The Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League is off between Dec. 15-27. (We’re not sure how they finagled the longest break in the CHL.)
- Most college conferences are already off, and will remain so until Dec. 28 (if not later).
- Heck, even the Wranglers are off between Dec. 23-29.
In the meantime, we strongly recommend checking out such great international events as the World Juniors and the Spengler Cup.
As we wait for Santa to shimmy down the chimney, here’s our weekly check-in with the Flames’ prospects.
