The World Juniors are just around the corner for Flames prospects

Folks, it’s nearly mid-December, which means two things.
One, you need to get your holiday shopping finished immediately. Two, prospects from around the hockey world will soon be heading to their national junior team camps for the upcoming World Junior Championships tournament in Ottawa.
The Flames have one guaranteed representative at the tournament – Sweden’s Axel Hurtig – and one potential representative – Canada’s Zayne Parekh. Both are blueliners, but they’re essentially polar opposites of each other; Hurtig is a blunt instrument, while Parekh is all finesse. It’s pretty fun that the Flames could have two defenders at the event that are so different from each other.
As we await the start of camps, let’s check in with all of the prospects.
Jonathan Aspirot – D, Calgary Wranglers, AHL
25; signed as a free agent; 6’0″, 200 pounds; shoots left

Battaglia didn’t hit the scoresheet this week, though he generated a ton of shots.
In other news, the lads over at the Steve Dangle Podcast interviewed Battaglia after Sunday’s game.
