Throwback Thursday: This week in 1981, Calgary Flames draft Al MacInnis

Welcome back to another edition of Throwback Thursday!
This week in 1981 (June 10), the Calgary Flames drafted Al MacInnis 15th overall.
The future Hall of Famer had an incredible 13-year career with the Flames. He scored 213 goals and 822 points in 803 games with the Flames and was a stalwart defencemen despite never winning a Norris trophy with Calgary.
He did, however, score 31 points in 22 games when the Flames won the 1989 Stanley Cup where he won the Conn Smythe trophy.
MacInnis’ time with Calgary came to an end on July 4, 1994 when alongside the clubs 4th round pick in 1997, he was sent to the St. Louis Blues for Phil Housley and second-round picks in 1996 and 1997.
Calgary selected Steve Begin and John Tripp with those choices, respectively.
