Welcome back to another edition of Throwback Thursday!
It was today in 1999 that Calgary Flames goalie Grant Fuhr notched his 400th career win.
While Fuhr’s time in Calgary was short, see one season at the end of his career, it did help get him in the 400 win club. Fuhr had signed with the Flames and played in 23 games that year posting a dismal5-13-2 record and a .856 save percentage.
The Flames did, however, do what they needed to in getting Fuhr into the club. In classic Fuhr style, the win came in an overtime game that saw the Flames beat the Florida Panthers 3-2. He allowed goals to Jaroslav Spacek in the first and second period, while Valeri Bure scored twice for Calgary.
Derek Morris got the winning goal 20 seconds into overtime while Fuhr stopped 29 shots.
