Notes and expectations

The Flames returned to practice this week and that brought one prominent lineup change for the Wranglers. Matvei Gridin returned to join his NHL line after four games and an AHL All-Star appearance with the Wranglers. In his stretch of games he had one assist and most recently scored the game-winning goal in the Wranglers shootout victory over the Manitoba Moose on Monday. There hasn’t been any word on any other transactions from the Wranglers going into this series so everyone else is expected to be accounted for.
Calgary may need to dig into their depth a little bit over this weekend depending on how Dryden Hunt and Alex Gallant are doing with their injuries. They were both listed as day to day upper body injuries as of Monday. Hunt especially would be good to have back for some more offensive with Gridin back in the NHL.
As far as their match up goes, the Condors sit at third in the Pacific Division and last played on Wednesday night against the Coachella Valley Firebirds, where they won 4-3. The Wranglers have already faced the Condors six times this season so far and sit at a 2-2-2-0 record against them.
This will just be a one game stop before the Wranglers go to face the San Jose Barracuda on Saturday. Friday’s game gets going at 8:00 p.m. MT and game streams will be available on Flo Hockey for a fee or on Sportsnet 960 The Fan for the radio broadcast.
