Notes and expectations

There have been a few roster moves this week between the Flames and their affiliating teams. Ilya Solovyov and Yan Kuznetsov were called up earlier in the week, but Kuznetsov was sent back down on Friday as the Wranglers were only carrying six defencemen. One of which was Jarred Tinordi, who missed last game with a lower body injury and Joni Jurmo who also missed last game with an illness. To also provide more options on the blue line, the Wranglers called up Charles Martin from the Rapid City Rush on Friday.
On the forward side, Adam Klapka was called up to the Flames on Friday. Klapka was up with the Flames before the Four Nations Face-Off break and last played on Feb. 6 against the Colorado Avalanche. He was able to play for the Wranglers in the two games against the Ontario Reign during the NHL break. Klapka currently has one goal in 12 games with the Flames this year. Regarding other forward options, Sam Morton exited the first game of the Ontario series in the first period and missed the second game. There is not a timeline for his return at this point but due to the nature of his fall involving his head hitting the ice, I don’t imagine he’ll be available this weekend.
News coming out of Flames practice this week as well was Tyson Barrie being put on waivers. This happened on Thursday and he was cleared on Friday. The Flames assigned him to the Wranglers and he is available for the team for this road trip. In his last stint with the Wranglers, he had three points in their two game series against the San Diego Gulls.
This game against Coachella Valley gets going at 7:00 p.m. MT and will be streamed on AHLtv on Flo Hockey for a fee. The Wranglers only have the one game stop against the AHL Affiliate of the Seattle Kraken before going to Ontario, CA on Sunday. Multiple FlamesNation contributors will also have updates on X (formerly Twitter).
