Ironically, one of the Flames better games in terms of chance totals and differential. That was helped in large part to Rene Bourque waking up after his tongue lashing on HNIC the other night. This was, by far, his best performance of the season.

Unfortunately, the Flames couldn’t cash on their numerous chances resulting in the loss. Most nights they win this game, but that’s cold comfort for fans right now Im sure.

This may seem strange, but this game loss in particular angers me more than any other loss we’ve had this season. Sensators are in a similar position as the Flames (though perhaps better, if tonights socre is any indication) with much worse goaltending: Anderson came into this game with a .887 sv% and 3.4ish GAA (according to TSN.ca, I should note). This is a game the Flames should have totally take advantage of.

Instead the top line ends with 0 points and roughly -2 each, and the only goal was scored by the third line.

I refuse to accept a “the goalie was hot” excuse for this game. Not with how poorly Anderson has played *in general* this season; I also refuse to continue to be patient regarding the top-6 (Backlund excempted from this statement).

I’m not advocating trading them, but the so-called talent needs to be scratched for a game or two. Let the watch from the outside, learn something from the youngsters, and hopefully get them mad enough to play harder than they have been. As a fan I’d be willing to eat a couple of losses if they sat a couple of the “top talent”.

At least, to my perspective, they’d be doing something to shake the team up. Sitting a 3rd/4th/5th liner does not shake up the “secure” top 6 guys. Seriously.

I probably should have waited for an article about the game story before I vented, but if I waited that long (tommorow or later tonight or whatever) I might have “cooled off” too much.

So for those who were offended by my venting in a story about the scoring chances, I apologise.

Hahahahaha. Well Put. He`s actually not that predictable, and high glove side is not a glaring weakness of Kipper`s, even though the first two goals seemed to find their way there.

While we had a ton of scoring chances, how many were really quality one’s? I mean Glencross on a break shooting the puck into Andersons gut is technically a scoring chance by virtue of where it was shot from, but at the same time shooting into the goalies body will often have much less affect than where Butlet shot to get his two goals.
