The Calgary Flames were in first place in the Pacific Division for the entire month of December. One of their star players has been honoured for his efforts in the club’s strong December, as Johnny Gaudreau has been named the National Hockey League’s second star of the month.
Gaudreau was second in the NHL in scoring during the month, posting 11 goals and 26 points in that span. He even had nine multi-point games. He enters January fifth in the NHL in scoring, behind only Nikita Kucherov, Mikko Rantanen, Nathan MacKinnon and Connor McDavid. Through 40 games, Gaudreau has 21 goals and 55 points.
