The Calgary Flames dropped a little bit of news on Thursday afternoon. The club has officially named Chris Snow their newest assistant general manager.
Snow joins Craig Conroy and Brad Pascall as the team’s three AGMs.
For those unfamiliar, Snow has been with the Flames for nine seasons. Up until this point, he’s run their analytics department with a variety of titles – most recently director of hockey analysis. Prior to joining the Flames, Snow served as director of hockey operations for the Minnesota Wild and, prior to that, worked as a baseball beat reporter covering the Minnesota Twins and Boston Red Sox.
Flames GM Brad Treliving went out of his way to praise the hockey operations department during the press conference announcing Matthew Tkachuk’s signing and this promotion is another sign of how highly the Flames value integrating information of various types into their decision-making.
