Pretty scary stuff at practice. TJ Brodie collapsed on the ice, was convulsing. Left with paramedics a few minutes ago. Practice called short, as you’d expect; everyone in attendance pretty rattled.

A scary scene unfolded on Thursday afternoon at the Scotiabank Saddledome during the Calgary Flames’ practice. During the skate, defenseman TJ Brodie collapsed and started convulsing according to multiple media reports. He was attended to by paramedics and headed to a hospital via an ambulance.
Brodie, 29, was drafted by the Flames in the 2008 NHL Draft and has been a fixture on their blueline since first cracking the line-up in the 2011-12 season. He’s been bouncing between the first pairing (with Mark Giordano) and the third pairing (with Michael Stone) this season, but has played every game. In 591 career games, all with the Flames, Brodie has 44 goals and 255 points.
'TJ Brodie experienced an episode on ice at practice today. He is alert and responsive and has been transported to local area hospital for evaluation. We will provide a further update when available. Thank you.' #Flames GM Brad Treliving
We’ll have more on Brodie’s condition and status as it becomes available.
