Seattle Kraken will join the Flames in the Pacific Division in 2021-22

Over a year after they were awarded a franchise, Seattle’s NHL expansion team finally has a name. The Seattle Kraken were unveiled at a media event at the Seattle Center Arena construction site on Thursday morning.
Seattle Kraken home jersey
The logo and jersey are just great and add a nice splash of colour to the Pacific Division. The Kraken begin play in 2021-22, which will nudge Arizona to the Central Division.
Thus, for 2021-22 and beyond the division (and its colour palate) looks like this:
- Anaheim Ducks – black, metallic gold, orange, silver
- Calgary Flames – red, yellow, black, white
- Edmonton Oilers – orange, navy blue, white
- Los Angeles Kings – black, silver, white
- San Jose Sharks – teal, burnt orange, black
- Seattle Kraken – midnight blue, icy blue, red
- Vancouver Canucks – blue, green, white
- Vegas Golden Knights – steel grey, gold, silver, black
Lots of types of blue, obviously, but Seattle stands out by staying almost entirely within that colour family.
Seattle now has a name, logo and jerseys. They’ll get players following the 2020-21 season when the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft occurs.
