Slightly less than 24 hours after a victory up the road in Los Angeles, the Calgary Flames (14-4-5, 33 points) look to complete a back-to-back sweet as they head to the O.C. to face the Anaheim Ducks (13-8-3, 29 points). Can the Flames keep their road mojo going?
This game gets rolling at 8 p.m. MT. You can catch the action on Sportsnet One and Sportsnet 960 The Fan.

The Flames

Projected lines via Daily Faceoff:
Gaudreau – Lindholm – Tkachuk
Coleman – Backlund – Mangiapane
Dube – Monahan – Pitlick
Lucic – Richardson – Lewis
Hanifin – Andersson
Kylington – Tanev
Zadorov – Gudbranson
We’re expecting Dan Vladar to start for the Flames, backed up by Jacob Markström (who played and won last night in Los Angeles). The projected extras are Michael Stone and Adam Ruzicka. Typically, Darryl Sutter hasn’t shuffled his lineup around in the second half of back-to-backs so we’ll see if that holds on this occasion.
This is the fourth back-to-back set this season, all of them purely road series, and the Flames have done reasonably well in these situations this season:
  • Win in New York (Oct. 25), win in New Jersey (Oct. 26)
  • Loss in Montreal (Nov. 11), OT loss in Toronto (Nov. 12)
  • Win in New York (Nov. 20), win in Boston (Nov. 21)
The Flames were decent against the Kings, but they struggled to handle LA’s speedy on the forecheck. They’ll need to be a bit faster with their decision-making when they face the Ducks.

The Ducks

Yesterday’s lines via Daily Faceoff:
Henrique – Steel – Terry
Milano – Zegras – Rakell
Lundestrom – Grant – Silfverberg
Deslauriers – Carrick – Lettieri
Lindholm – Drysdale
Fowler – Manson
Mahura – Shattenkirk
Anthony Stolarz starts for the Ducks, backed up by John Gibson. Their extra player is Simon Benoit.
The Ducks are coming off a very back-and-forth 6-5 win over Vegas on Wednesday, and they’re firmly entrenched in the top half of the Pacific Division. They’re a bit top-heavy, but they’ve gotten full value from young players like Trevor Zegras and Jamie Drysdale this season and they’ve gotten enough from their goaltenders to give themselves a fighting chance.
