On Monday, another Calgary Flames goaltender received a league honour. Junior netminder Arsenii Sergeev was named the Goaltender of the Week by the United States Hockey League.

It’s the fourth time this season that Sergeev has been named the USHL’s weekly top goaltender, the most among all USHL goalies.
Sergeev, 20, was the Flames’ seventh-round pick, 205th overall, in the 2021 NHL Draft. He’s emerged, almost out of the blue, as the top goaltender in the USHL. And not “one of” the top goaltenders, but the top goaltender. He currently leads the USHL in every goaltending category: wins (by seven), goals against average (by 0.90 goals), save percentage (by 0.015 percentage points) and shutouts (by three, double the next-best goalie).
