Photo credit: Sergei Belski-USA TODAY Sports
In advance of the Battle of Alberta in the Stanley Cup playoffs, a pair of Canada’s national men’s soccer team defenders have taken time out from their World Cup preparations to make a wager on the series.
Sam Adekugbe, a Calgary kid who plays for Turkish club Hatayspor, and Alphonso Davies, an Edmonton kid who plays for Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga, have made a little wager.
If Edmonton wins, Adekugbe will donate $2,000 to the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation and take a photo in an Oilers jersey. if Calgary wins, Davies will donate $2,000 to the Flames Foundation and take a photo in a Flames jersey.
If you want to get in on the action, you can donate to the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation or the Flames Foundation at the links provided.
The Battle of Alberta begins on Wednesday in Calgary.
