<p>Pospisil, 22, scored seven goals and 25 points in 47 American Hockey League games with the Stockton Heat during the 2021–22 regular season. He added two goals and six points in 11 playoff appearances with the Heat.</p>

<p>The Flames originally selected Pospisil in the fourth round (No. 105 overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft. The Zvolen, Slovakia product has scored 15 goals and 46 points (plus 186 penalty minutes) in 87 career AHL regular-season games, all with Stockton.</p>
<p>Pospisil is a 6&#8217;1&#8243;, 195-pound forward who has spent significant time both at centre and on the wing in the AHL. His new deal carries an NHL cap hit of $750,000.</p>
<p>This is Pospisil&#8217;s first standard player contract in the NHL (his three-year entry-level deal expired on July 13). He previously earned a $70,000 salary in the AHL, but he&#8217;ll probably take home slightly more next season.</p>
<p>Pospisil will almost certainly spend the majority of the 2022–23 AHL season with the Calgary AHL franchise, which has yet to be officially named but is <a href="https://flamesnation.ca/2022/08/02/calgary-flames-ahl-affiliate-calgary-wranglers/">expected</a> to be called the Wranglers.</p>
<p>The Flames have nearly a full slate of AHL forwards under contract for 2022–23, including Pospisil, Connor Zary, Emilio Pettersen, Cole Schwindt, Ben Jones, Clark Bishop, Walker Duehr, Adam Klapka, Rory Kerins, and Ilya Nikolaev. Jakob Pelletier, Adam Ruzicka, and Matthew Phillips could also log big minutes in the AHL next season.</p>
<p>With Pospisil dealt with, the Flames now have only three restricted free agents left to sign this summer: Ruzicka, Andrew Mangiapane, and Adam Ruzicka.</p>
