The off-season is prospect season, folks. Over at The Athletic, we’ve seen Scott Wheeler break down his league-wide rankings of the top prospects with his rundown of the top skaters and goaltenders. Corey Pronman’s gotten in on the action, looking at the top 168 under-23 NHL players and prospects.
Four Calgary Flames prospects appear on Pronman’s list.
Tier 2 — Tim Stützle, Adam Fantilli
Tier 4 — Leo Carlsson, Moritz Seider
Tier 7 — Kirby Dach, Philip Broberg@coreypronman ranks NHL prospects and players under the age of 23: https://t.co/vpwHUzLwHe pic.twitter.com/kQo7Hah0EN

The four Flames properties appear in the same order that they were featured in during Pronman’s detailed Flames prospect rundown earlier in August.
- Samuel Honzek was 53rd
- Matt Coronato was 82nd
- Connor Zary was 104th
- Dustin Wolf was 150th
Honzek was the Flames’ first-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. Coronato was their first-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft. Zary was their first-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. Wolf was their seventh-round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft.
As is typical, Pronman’s detailed breakdowns of each player are included on the list and players are broken down into specific tiers showcasing each player’s upside. Because this rundown includes both prospects and under-23 NHLers, you get a good sense of how all NHL clubs are looking in terms of young up-and-comers. If you’re interested in drafting and development, it’s definitely worth your time.
