The Calgary Flames have signed Czech forward Adam Klapka to a two-year entry-level contract, the club announced Monday afternoon.
Klapka, 21, stands 6’7″ and weighs 245 pounds. The right-handed right wing scored six goals and 18 points in 44 Czech League games with Liberec Bili Tygri HC in the 2021–22 regular season; in 10 playoff games, he added one goal and four points.
Prior to entering the Czech League, Klapka played parts of two seasons with the Tri-City Storm of the USHL. The Prague product scored 12 goals and 21 points in 49 games with the Storm in 2020–21.
Klapka appeared in three games with Team Czechia at the 2019 World Junior A Challenge in British Columbia, scoring one goal and three assists.

Klapka’s contract with the Flames will take effect in the 2022–23 season. He’ll be able to become a restricted free agent in the summer of 2024.
