Calgary Flames rookie @Adam Ruzicka is on the board.
The 22-year-old centre scored his first National Hockey League goal in the second period of his team’s game against the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday.
With the Flames already leading 2–1, Ruzicka picked up the rebound of a long-range @Chris Tanev shot in front of the Sharks net and patiently deposited the rebound for his first goal in his fifth NHL game.
@Brad Richardson picked up the secondary assist on the goal. Here’s the video of the play, as posted to Twitter by Bleacher Report Open Ice:
Ruzicka entered Tuesday’s game with one assist in his first four NHL contests. In 13 American Hockey League games with the Stockton Heat this season, Ruzicka has 16 points (including a team-leading 10 goals).
The Flames originally selected Ruzicka in the fourth round (109th overall) in the 2017 draft. Calgary currently leads San Jose by a 3–2 score late in the second period.
