The Stanley Cup finals are upon us, and the in-province rival Edmonton Oilers are taking on ex-Flames Sam Bennett, Matthew Tkachuk, and the Florida Panthers. It’s the lesser of two evils: who do you want to win this year’s Stanley Cup, Flames Nation?
Today’s expected goaltender matchup for our highlighted game:
The Edmonton Oilers’ Stuart Skinner (11-5 record, 2.49 GAA, .897 S%). vs. The Florida Panthers’ Sergei Bobrovsky (12-5 record, 2.20 GAA, .908 S%).

Evan Bouchard Point (-165)

Evan Bouchard silently has the fifth most points by a defenceman in NHL history, and the Stanley Cup finals haven’t even begun yet. Now, he’ll need 10 points to tie former Oilers defenceman Paul Coffey, but if he matches his series-low point total of seven, he will tie Brian Leetch for second all-time.
Bouchard has 27 points in 18 playoff games, an average of 1.5 points per game. These numbers for a defenceman are unbelievable. On the road this postseason, Bouchard has nine points in nine games.

Carter Verhaeghe Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (+110)

A $10.00 bet would return $21.00.
Verhaeghe has cleared in seven of his 17 playoff games, averaging 3.6 shots on 7.9 shot attempts. So, despite only clearing in 41% of all playoff games, he averages just under the total and nearly doubles the shot attempts.
Verhaeghe has been a completely different shooter at home this playoffs. He has hit this line in six of nine home playoff games, averaging 4.3 shots on 9.4 shot attempts. While on the road, he’s cleared in just one of Florida’s eight playoff games, averaging 2.8 shots per game.
Verhaeghe was an Oilers killer this season. He registered three goals and five points in two games against them, four shots on goal in both games and an average of 6.5 shot attempts.

Last Game Recap

Jason Robertson Over 2.5 Shots on Goal – WON – (+$11.50)
Jake Oettinger Over 26.5 Saves – LOSS – (-$10.00)
Jason Robertson has three shots in the first period and finishes with nine total shots. But Flames Nation doesn’t let me forget that the cover boy, Jake Oettinger, missed by about one million saves. What have we learned? Maybe stay away from the cover boy and take the other props.
All-Time Record: 115-105-1 (+$27.94)
