The Toronto Maple Leafs are facing elimination against their nemesis, the Boston Bruins. Will they survive?
Today’s expected goaltender matchup for our highlighted game:
The Boston Bruins’ Jeremy Swayman (3-1 record, 1.49 GAA, .952 S%) vs. The Toronto Maple Leafs’ Joseph Woll (1-0 record, 0.75 GAA, .970 S%).

Boston Bruins moneyline & Brad Marchand point -1.5 (+175)

A $10.00 bet would return $29.50.
It might be too tall of a task to replicate the heroics of the last game to come through with a win despite missing their 69-goal scorer. I think the loss of Auston Matthews will be too much to overcome for a second straight game. Not to mention, they’ve won 10 of their last 12 head-to-head meetings against the Maple Leafs.
Boston seems to have found their starting goalie, and they’re sticking with him. Jeremy Swayman gets the start of the fourth straight game, which hasn’t happened since the beginning of January. They made the switch after Linus Ullmark’s Game 2 win. Swayman has a 6-0-1 record, a 1.40 GAA and a .954 S% in those seven games. He’s in the head of the Maple Leafs, and I think that continues tonight.
Brad Marchand has eight points in four of five games this series. Against the Maple Leafs, he has 13 points in eight of his last nine games. Joseph Woll got the start last game, but he failed to register a point. It’s hard to imagine him going pointless in back-to-back games against him.

William Nylander over 3.5 shots on goal (-130)

A $10.00 bet would return $17.69.
William Nylander has cleared this line in four of his last six games, averaging 4.0 shots on 9.2 shots attempts. He has cleared in three of his previous five home games, averaging 4.0 shots on 10.0 shot attempts.
With Auston Matthews on the shelf last game, Nylander stepped up as the team’s top shooter, finishing with five shots on goal and 12 shot attempts. In games without Matthews, Nylander has cleared in four straight games, averaging 5.0 shots on 8.8 shot attempts – including a game earlier this season where he had four shots on seven attempts.
Against the Bruins, Nylander has cleared in three of his last six games, averaging 4.5 shots on 8.8 shot attempts. Thus far this playoffs, the Bruins have allowed 7.2 shots on goal to right-wingers per game — that’s an increase from their 5.6 average from the regular season.

Last Game Recap

Edmonton Oilers Puckline – LOSS – (-$10.00)
Adrian Kempe Over 3.5 Shots on Goal – LOSS – (-$10.00)
Our puck line magic ended last night as the Oilers move onto the second round, but they can’t find the empty net to cover the puck line. Kempe finishes one shot shy for us as well.
All-Time Record: 89-86 (-$21.18)
